I’ve been a fan of Celine Dion since her song, “Power of Love”. Just last year, I went to her concert at Ceasar’s Palace in Las Vegas. I sat in the center, fourth row - I was so close to her it was incredible. I love her singing because she sings with so much power and passion - unlike many new artists in the music industry today who seems to focus more on their appearances.

Although I love Celine Dion to death, I have yet to become a fan of her fragrances. I’ve tried some of the perfumes she’s launched, but none have been as special as her beautiful voice (at least to me). However, her fragrances have been major successes, which includes: Enchanting, Belong, and Celine Dion Parfums. According to Wikipedia, Celine Dion’s perfumes have accumulated 500 million USD in retail sales.

During April of 2008, she will be releasing her fifth perfume entitled Sensational. The fragrance is created by Symrise’s Maurice Roucel, who said he chose Orris and Mimosa as heart notes to reflect Celine’s “sensual, delicate and vibrant sides.” Sensational also includes tops notes of Icy Pear, Crisp Apple and Plum, heart notes composed of Jasmine and Freesia, as well as base notes that consist of Amber, Musk and Sandalwood.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche was launched during March of 2007, which is a lighter version of 2002’s Chance fragrance. The new version of Chance was developed by Jacques Polge, Chanel’s own in-house perfumer.

The new Chance is indeed very light and fresh. The scent is a creamy floral that smells fun and youthful, but elegant and sophisticated at the same time. Its base notes are composed of citrus and jasmine, which emphasizes the refreshing yet feminine impression. Notes included are: Citron, Water Hyacinth, Jasmine Absolute, White Musk, Vetiver, Amber Patchouli, and Teak Wood.

Many people who have tried Chance actually prefer it more than Chanel No. 5, which is probably one of the most well known fragrances of the world and an icon in the perfume industry. It appears as though people are going for a more sparkling fresh type of scent as opposed to the heavier parfum in the older days. Although No. 5 is the more famous of the two, the new Chancel Chance is perhaps more appropriate for modern perfume users. I, myself, prefer the light and refreshing scent, so I personally recommend Chanel Chance.

If you happen to be a fan of Juicy Couture, you’ll probably know that they have a slew of dog products such as: tags, leashes, clothes, paw polishes (with polish remover!), and dog houses.

Now for the very reason why I’m writing about them - Juicy Couture made a dog perfume called ‘Dog Pawfum’. The bottle looks somewhat similar to the Juciy Couture branded perfume for their human counterpart, except for the red, white, and blue striped logo tag that says ‘Juicy Crittoure’. However, Dog Pawfum does not come with a cheap price tag. It retails for $60 USD for a 1-oz. size, which is more expensive than some human perfumes. Dog Pawfum was available a while ago, so it’s not exactly news, but I thought I’d share it in case you missed it.

A while ago, a man from London was caught red handed when attempting to steal a bottle of Britney Spears perfume.

Now, we’ve got a thief in Bradenton, Florida, who has been stealing perfume from CVS stores. According to the detectives investigating this case, the man stole a few hundred dollars worth of perfume and cologne. Moreover, he did not attempt to hide them either like most thieves. He apparently filled a basket full of perfumes and marched straight out of the front door!

A picture caught on surveillance camera was recently revealed showing the suspect walking into the CVS store located at 510 1st Street West in the city of Bradenton. He is reported to be the very same person who was also captured on camera stealing perfume from two other CVS stores in Temple Terrace.

Judging from the amount of perfume and cologne this man is snatching, he’s definitely not getting them for his girlfriend as a Valentine’s Day present. Unless, of course, she reeks of stink. But then a shower would be a better choice.

Supermodel Kate Moss is planning to launch another perfume after her successful debut with ‘Kate’, which was released last year. ‘Kate’ was a floral musk which included the following notes: Orange Blossom Absolute, Forget-Me-Not, Pink Pepper, Lily of the Valley, Heliotrope, Magnolia, Peony, Rose, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Musk, Vetiver, and Ambrette.

“With the first one I wanted a scent that really relates to me; with attitude, a lightness but also a dark side lurking underneath,” she said. “This was the first scent. I really want there to be more,” she added.

No launch date has been set as if now.
