Romano Ricci’s New “Juliette has a gun” Perfume

Romano Ricci's New Perfume“The rock meets the romantics” is the theme of Romano Ricci’s new perfume. And yes, he is related to Nina Ricci – her great grandson, in fact.

Even though Romano Ricci is only 28 years old, he already possesses 10 years of experience in the perfume industry. Back in 2005, he started his own company “Juliette has a gun”. He collaborates with Francis Kurkdjian (creator of the perfumes Dior), Lanvin, Guerlain, and Jean Paul Gaultier.

The young perfumer presented his newest fragrance recently in Italy with Bulgarian rose ‘Juliette has a gun’.

“I tried to unite tenderness with the power of all ingredients, because I think that the woman can be sweet and tender but rock at the same time. I divided the perfume into two sub-perfumes in order to express all the aspects of the woman’s personality,” he said.

The two sub-perfumes are entitled ‘Miss Charming’ and ‘Lady Vengeance’. Miss Charming is fun, light, and refreshing, while Lady Vengeance is sensual, exquisite, and expresses the ‘darker’ side of women. The Bulgarian rose (mixed with vanilla) is the main note in the latter version.

Student Suspended Over Perfume

Eustis Middle School student, Kimberly Jordan, was suspended for wearing perfume. Her mother was very surprised.

Eustis Middle School

“If she goes to school stinking they’re going to be calling children and family services on me saying I’m an unfit mother,” Jennifer Jordon said. “She goes to school clean and they’re suspending her so she’s getting punished either way.”

The assistant principal had called Jordan a month prior to inform her that Kimberly’s teacher was allergic to perfume. Therefore, they went out and bought a body mist to replace the perfume, which is much lighter.

A few weeks passed by without a problem. Then out of the blue, the assistant principal called Jordan indicating that Kimberly has been suspended for wearing perfume to school … read more »

Six Unimportant Quirks About Myself

I’ve been swamped both at work and at home that I haven’t had time to write. Today’s entry is not related to perfume, but for a tag I recently received from Rose (sorry it took me this long to write it!).

Here are the rules from Rose’s site: Link to the person that tagged you. Post the rules on your blog. Share six un-important things/habits/quirks about your self. Tag 6 random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. Let these random people know that they are tagged by leaving comments in their blog. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

Six Unimportant things/habits/quirks about myself:

1. I don’t like insects, especially spiders and cockroaches. I remember one time I saw a spider on the wall, my first reaction was to scream, and amazingly, the spider fell off the wall!? I swear my scream was not so loud that it would have vibrated the solid wall. Now that I am older, I’m a bit less bothered, but I still don’t like bugs.

2. I didn’t like to drink milk when I was little, and I still don’t like it now. When I was around four-years-old, my mom would give me milk in a bottle. While she was not watching, I poured it down the toilet. I was in such a rush and feeling guilty at the same time that I forgot to flush it … read more »

Evangeline Lilly to Represent Cool Water Woman

If you are a fan of the ‘Lost’ series, or particularly, a fan of Evangeline Lilly – you’ll be happy to know that she’s agreed to become the face of Davidoff’s new Cool Water Woman perfume campaign.

Evangeline LillyAccording to Lilly, Cool Water Woman “definitely represents the juxtaposition between purity and sensuality, and there’s that sort of fresh newness. On top of it, there’s strength that’s underneath it all, that is where sensuality comes from – versus just pure sexiness”.

Davidoff’s Cool Water Woman is described as, “The ocean, one of nature’s basic elements, is the origin of a symbolic fragrance that celebrates the natural beauty of women … The legend of Davidoff Cool Water Woman continues with a new eau de parfum, a fragrance that expresses even more femininity and sensuousness. Inspired by Aphrodite, the character and energy of the woman using Cool Water Woman symbolizes the ocean – its depths and mysticism are the origin of her eternal femininity and irresistible allure.”

Now that Lilly has signed with Coty for this campaign, it’s only a matter of time before she decides she’d like to have her own line of fragrance (seeing how all the celebrities are jumping the perfume train).

Perfume Bay Changes Name After Battling Online Auction Giant, eBay

The four year old battle has finally come to an end between Perfume Bay and Ebay. Perfume Bay has officially become Beauty Encounter after losing an appeal to trademark infringement case against eBay. Instead of continuing the battle, Beauty Encounter has decided to give up both of its registered web addresses: and Beauty Encounter sells perfumes, makeup, as well as bath and body products.Perfume Bay is now part of Beauty Encounter

Ebay sued Perfume Bay back in 2004 on the account that Perfume Bay’s domain names were being mistaken as official Ebay sites by consumers. The case went to trial the following year. The courts cleared eight out of the nine counts. The ruling for the ninth count was that Perfume Bay could not use the word “bay” next to “perfume”.

Now Perfume Bay is Beauty Encounter. I think I actually prefer the Beauty Encounter name. I could imagine it was probably not fun being sued by Ebay, and facing the risk of losing a profitable site. According to an earlier interview, Chief Executive Jacquelyn Tran expressed that, “Perfume Bay would have to focus on rebranding itself if it lost the appeal.”

“We’re not going anywhere. I’ve worked too hard to get where I’m at,” said Tran, who started Perfume Bay back in 1999 with the help of her family.
