Britney Spears reportedly refused to sit next to Victoria Beckham at a restaurant in Chateau Marmont last year – and this is how the feud between the two started.
Beckham, who has established her style sense with her line of men’s denim called ‘dVb’, hopes to gain some respect through her label. She said, “I’m not doing a Britney Spears and just putting my name on something and saying, ‘Sell this perfume.’ This is a real passion of mine. People think all I do is go shopping like a miserable cow, but, in actual fact, I work bloody hard.”
In addition, she indicated that she does not want to live like Spears, “I could never live a life like Britney Spears, who is under the spotlight everyday. I couldn’t do that. I would go stir crazy.”
I agree with Beckham to a certain extent. Britney Spears probably doesn’t give much thought to her perfume line. In fact, if you recall, her newest fragrance logo, “believe”, is an exact replica of the logo of a non profit organization. You’d think Spears’ marketing agency would have done a better job than copying word for word, and color for color.
On the other hand, Spears does not make the best choices for her life – anyone can see that. I can see the connection when Beckham is comparing her work ethic to Spears, but I don’t see the point of mentioning Spears’ obviously disoriented lifestyle.
