This is Beyoncé’s first perfume, and she is reported to be extremely happy about the final product.

“I’m so happy with it. I’ve been working on it for a while now. I was on tour for a year, and I have meet-and-greets with fans. I’ve never in my life gotten so many compliments. Coty has their own testing, but that was my testing! The fans loved it. They were like, ‘I love that, I’m getting that, why isn’t it out right now? I need it!”

The pop singer also indicated that she got inspiration for the red vanilla orchid and magnolia fragrance from her world-wide tours.

“A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat.’ Also, red is one of my favorite colors, as is gold,” she said.

Details are still sketchy. When asked to confirm the report, Jennifer’s representative said, “We’re not in a position to confirm or deny this.”

Jennifer’s arch nemisis, Angelina Jolie, was also rumored to be launching a ’sexy’ scent last year, however, it never transpired.

She looked great appearing in a little black dress and Christian Louboutin heels. As the night wore on, however, she managed to drop a bottle of her perfume after throwing it in the air. Then she flashed her thighs to the audience as some random person hoisted her into his arms. On top of all the mishaps, she apparently had trouble spelling the name of her own perfume.

When asked by Heatworld to spell the name, she was reported to have replied,

“I can’t… I would have no idea. I don’t know. It’s ‘con’ C-O-N and then I’m lost. Is that even right? I wouldn’t have known.”

I’m not sure what to make of the new perfume, but the name is definitely very fitting. Do you think?

The former girlfriend of R&B singer Ray J is currently busy creating a perfume that is ‘uniquely hers’. Kardashian’s new perfume is scheduled to hit the stores in the U.S., Australia, Enlgand, Germany, and Japan during May of next year.

“It has always been a dream of mine to start my own perfume business, since I love to mix fragrances together and come up with new and different scents! I hope you understand my total excitement as I let you, the readers of my blog, become the first to know that I am creating my own fragrance!!!

I have decided to work with New Wave Fragrances, who also distribute Ed Hardy and True Religions fragrances.

It all started when my mom introduced me to famous perfumer Caroline Sabas from Gras, France. She and I have been working together to create a scent that is uniquely me that I can share with everyone!

I have also hired local designer Scott Oshry to help me create the perfect bottle for my fragrance. It is in the development stages, but we hope to have it in stores by next May – Mother’s Day!”

Unfortunately for CVS Caremark Corp, Family Dollar Stores Inc., and Preferred Fragrance Inc. (who made the knock-offs), Estee Lauder Cosmetic Inc. filed a federal lawsuit against them on Wednesday. Estee Lauder accused CVS and Family Dollar of selling imitation products that used their actual registered trademarks and/or names that were very similar to the original ones.

The suit included accusations of “trademark infringement, false advertising, diluting their trademarks and unfair competition.” It seeks for an injunction to stop CVS and Family Dollar from selling the products and asking for damages of up to $1 million for each individual type of knock-offs.

While I was in the store, I actually tried one of the “Impression” perfumes for fun. In fact, I had tried on an “Impression of Happy by Clinique.” Although the scent was somewhat similar, it was very obvious that it was an imitation because it smelled mustier than the real Clinique Happy. However, if people can’t afford the real one, I don’t think it is a huge deal to buy an imitation if one did not mind the scent difference.

On the other hand, I can see why Estee Lauder and Clinique would be worried about the loss of business from the knock-offs. Then again, if a person is buying an imitation due to its lower price tag, they wouldn’t be buying the real, more expensive version anyway. Not that I am advocating knock-offs, but why not let everyone (who can and cannot afford the authentic product) enjoy the scent as long as it’s not counterfeit and contain questionable ingredients.

Apparently, Lindsay has been thinking about creating her own fragrance for some time, but has not taken a step forward until now. She was reported to have said she is “sorta been experimenting” with a variety of scents, and in fact, has come up with “this oil that I made up myself”.

There are currently no further details on what type of fragrance Lindsay has created, or when it will be launched.

Avon, as many of you ladies (and gentlemen) may know, is a cosmetics giant. It was recently reported that Avon is teaming up with the creators of Jams Bond films to launch a new perfume called ‘Bond Girl 007′.

Actress Gemma Arterton, who is the Bond Girl of the upcoming film ‘Quantum of Solace’, is the lucky gal whose face will be plastered on the advertisements for the new fragrance.

“I’m thrilled to be working with two such iconic and established brands. The ‘Bond Girl 007′ fragrance embodies everything a Bond Girl represents – intelligence, sexiness and confidence,” said Arterton.

‘Bond Girl 007′ will be launched worldwide during October of 2008, which will coincide with the release of the new 007 movie.

No further information is published regarding the actual fragrance itself. What do you think Bond Girl will smell like?

“The concept of perfume is so new that a lot of Chinese consumers are, in fact, not buying a perfume but rather the brand to which a bottle of perfume happens to be attached,” the article reported.

As a side note, all of the celebrity brands are selling except for Coty’s Jennifer Lopez.

Apparently, she has now replaced the Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as the new face for Chanel No. 5. It looks like we will no longer be seeing Nicole’s face when we shop at the fragrance counters at department stores.

The perfume’s new ad campaign will start off with a short film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet starring Audrey Tautou, of course, in the leading role. The short film is scheduled to launch in 2009.
