Pop star Christina Aguilera has taken a break from her music career after giving birth to her first child in January. She is now working on a new fragrance to add to her perfume line. Aguilera’s previous two perfumes have been an international success. Her third perfume is set to launch some time this fall. In the meantime, here’s a commercial clip of her current perfume.

Although I haven’t seen many of Audrey Tautou’s movies, I’ve heard many positive reviews of her performance. At least, I know she did a good job in the Da Vinci Code.

Apparently, she has now replaced the Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as the new face for Chanel No. 5. It looks like we will no longer be seeing Nicole’s face when we shop at the fragrance counters at department stores.

The perfume’s new ad campaign will start off with a short film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet starring Audrey Tautou, of course, in the leading role. The short film is scheduled to launch in 2009.

Naomi Watts, the star of the King Kong remake, has accepted a new job as the spokeswoman for Thierry Mugler’s famous Angel fragrance.

Naomi has been out of the Hollywood radar recently due to pregnancy, but the new mommy has quite a few films in the making. Currently there are four movies in its pre- or post-production stage, which are all due in 2009. However, even before any of the films hits the theatres, her new Angel perfume ads are set to debut in October of this year.

One of the first things I notice about a perfume is its bottle design. Sometimes I am tempted to buy a perfume because it comes in an attractive bottle. Most of the perfume bottles are made of glass, molded to different shapes and sizes.

Recently, the IGC Group of Belgium and EXIRE® decided to take a step further, and launched the ‘Ultimate Small Brilliant’. The miniature perfume bottle is made with EXIRE® gold and set with 201 EXIRE® diamonds (which weighs 3.67tcw). This miniature perfume bottle is elegantly designed, and can hold up to 4 milliliters of perfume. It can easily fit into a woman’s hand due to its small size.

The gold and diamond perfume bottle was designed and crafted by Brilliant Services, a Belgian based high-end jewelry manufacturer that specializes in microscopic diamond settings and design.

I don’t know how much this perfume bottle costs, but I’m sure it’s going to have a hefty price tag.

James Franco, aka Harry Osborne from Spiderman, has been reported to be the new face for the upcoming Gucci by Gucci perfume.

He’s joined Gucci’s girls Raquel Zimmerman, Natasha Poly and Freja Beha Erichsen, who are the advertising models of Gucci’s women’s perfume, for the new campaign.

The new Gucci’s men’s perfume will be launched sometime this autumn.
